We're tired of marching through empty capitals holding the same old signs and chanting the same old slogans. We bet you are too. Our strategy for creating actions starts with honing your group's message and then designing an action or campaign that embodies that message directly. We create actions that allow you to be the message you're trying to send. To put it another way, we help you be the change you want to see in the world.

Changing the world means changing people, and we can only change people if we engage with them where they are. We call this "taking action in the commons."
Instead of fighting for a permit to wave signs outside Bush's second inaugural parade, we organized 5,000 people to infiltrate the crowd and undermine his authority with a simple act of defiance. Instead of holding a rally to call for an end to the Iraq war, we brought veterans inside the House and Senate chambers to challenge Congress directly.

The Action Mill works with groups large and small who want to make the ideas behind The Action is the Message and Taking Action in the Commons their own. We ask the right questions and help groups develop their own solutions to their own problems. When you do find the right action, it's usually an idea that is so simple, so obvious, that it's hard to believe you didn't think of it before. We'll work hard with you to make it look easy.
